Yes...We're originally from the East Coast and strive to deliver East Coast Soul with West Coast Style, or at the very least offer a "A Nice Sandwich".

If you are nearby then visit us for lunch or dinner and get a meal & a beer in our 35 seat establishment behind UC Hastings Law School in SF's United Nation's Civic Center Plaza Neighborhood. Morty's Delicatessen is located in Downtown San Francisco at 280 Golden Gate Ave (near the corner of Hyde St in the um, always "upcoming & emerging" Tenderloin)
Morty's has a commitment to quality at reasonable prices, using only high quality meats & cheese, with the freshest produce we can find.
We start taking orders in mid-morning, well before noon each week day, and keep the kitchen action hot & heavy until 9pm week nights. Morty's most popular menu items include traditional faves like our rockin' Reubens ( served in 3 styles) or Roast Beef Sandwiches, as well as Niman Ranch Burgers, Chicken BLT's, Catfish Po' Boys, Spicy Buffalo Wings and Mac N Cheese Nuggets with San Marzano Marinara Dipping Sauce topped with Shaved Parmesan
Morty simmers up Award-Winning Chili Carnivore's Crave...but also always offers a Tasty Lentil or a rare French Onion Soup suitable for vegetarians. So when in doubt and curious about what's in the stock pot, just call 415 567 DELI and ask for details on the daily specials.
Despite a prevalence of Meaty NYC Style Deli Specialties and some Southern classics like Pulled Pork sandwiches, many Vegetarian/Vegan options appear throughout the varied Deli menu and we can often accomodate special dietary requests, whether for a single serving or a large catered breakfast/lunch/dinner. Morty's offers addictive appetizers, decadent desserts & many raved about House Salads that make people happy, as well as help keep 'em healthy. Many ask "Who is Morty?", and that's a subject best left unspoken. Our somewhat shadowy chef & proprietor came to SF years ago at the behest of the witness protection program, yet earned culinary cred feeding folks in a variety of well known kitchens that catered to SF's "well-to-do", and SF's "not-doing-so-well" and all points in between. The main point being, there either weren't a lot of complaints or a lot of witnesses, and, so our erstwhile protaganist somehow stayed in the game...and now we all win! Nuff sed...
OK we admit our page is, um, kinda under construction, but so is your tasty sandwich, and really which would you rather have finished first?
Anyhow, All This Complex Culinary Craftsmanship Means Morty is More Likely House Smoking The Kobe Beef, Foraging Farmer's Markets & Delivering Delicious Dinners Across The 7 x 7 Corners Of San Francisco County Than Tinkering On A Fancy Web Site. So This basically concludes our interweb offerings for now... We might love to add some photos, testimonials and flashy bandwidth sucking marketing fluff that would make a Blue Toothed SOMA PR flack pleased... but we're frickin' busy doing what we do already here people.
